IIMK campus versus IIMB campus

I hate it my friend but I can't hold it further, especially when I am suffocated enough to wake up at 3AM in night. Lying here, I only wonders , what happened to Bangalore fresh air and from where does it gets huge stocks of mosquitoes.
Few months back, I got in awe with this campus while I was here for the sports meet . It was as great as mentioned by my friend i.e. amount of sports facilities and proximity to malls, pubs and discs.
My stay in Bangalore over last 2 weeks turned to be an eye openers. With all due respect to its students and almamater, I just ask whether sports facilities and pubs replace the bare minimum necessities of our day to day life. Rather in K we can hang out at better places at half the price, ex a buffet at Taj cost us half the price here.
I ponder over what I miss the most; and finds the following points to write about....
a) Nature: Even if I do not account for IIM-Kcampus natural beauty, the fresh air and greener campus stands over rocky, suffocating, mosquitoes filled campus of Bangalore
b) Nature of people: I salute the spirit of the people of Bangalore for their fucking attitude toward work and people from other states. Be it auto wallah or staff worker in IIMB, you just kept wondering you are in brink of being duped of money or service. In Kerala people are far more trustworthy and the staff workers perform more than what their duty calls for. The rooms and bathroom provided in IIMB remain uncleaned room and the admin give shit about the same.
c) Natural resource: Water and pollution remains a big problem. My fight for saving my body and hair from hard water and polluted atmosphere of Bangalore will be accounted as hardest ever battle I have fought over the year, which will be followed by my stay in Noida,UP.
d) Snacks canteen: Man I love what they serve in IIMB, be it hand made tea or great sandwiches, but this is all they have. The menu was so short that I heard every college grad crib about the same while having their snacks.
Well IIMK canteen is not only to boast about menu but also its position over the hill that provides mosquito free happier times during snacks time.
e) POLLUTION and TRAFFIC : Reaching discs, mall or office isn’t easy. If you are able to avoid autowallahs, travelling in Bangalore remains HELL. Even with an experience of Delhi of 2000 (highest pollution levels), I am having run for my health in these challenging situation.
Probably it isn’t remain only about IIMB and could have been worse have I been staying somewhere else in Bangalore. It could have been worst here if students of IIMB haven’t provided us access to sports facilities and internet. But when I talk about IIM’s expectation rises and everything boils down to comparison esp when you miss taken for granted things that were the part of your one year stay in other campus

PS: I know some of Bangalore guys wont agree to content above, but then the blog is not to prove it. Rather share it people going through same pain :)

Yeah life here, may be better than other places... and as you believe in good times @bangalore as well as IIMB campus ..so did I ...But the story is different here ..

I think IIMB guys should think before comparing there campus life to ours ... and as you said (without any bias or doubt) ..
Kampus is "the" place

Couldn't have been stated before
We think that Kampus is so far from the city, try visiting any of the good places near IIM B,
it will require u double the time and money for half the distance.

And really a in the nature away from all the pollution makes me miss the Kampus even more

My my!! There goes a string of complaints and cribs!! Machchar...pollution...traffic.. double the time and money..half the distance.. and ppl of bangalore are cheats!! coming from a Delhiite! :P
Gaurav Mahajan.. get back to Delhi and u might wanna consider views of non-Delhiites bout our city.. we cant crib of the feeling of being duped given that we are from the place where outsiders are warned of cheats! And remember it is only sometime ago that Delhi pollution used to be similar to the stuff u're facing there..
Now wat's next might seem like a defence round but just to put things in perspective -
1. A disclaimer: I am not a great Bangalore patriot..now..
2. Nature: IIM B is any day closer to nature than any part of the city.. and than most of Delhi!! :P If wild trees and hills are your idea of nature.. please broaden ur horizon! ;) a year at K cant make ur perspective so narrow
3. Nature of people - ahem.. what do i say bout it.. i generally tend to feel worse off when i am in Delhi bout being cheated if i dont know the way.. Bangaloreans are better than that and i can vouch for it :)
4. Water and air pollution- Gimme a break! IIM B Campus water is pretty fine.. Yea.. the city is polluted no doubt but dont think u get an inch of this feeling when on campus
5. Snacks canteen! - I guess u guys have been deprived of the full menu of our mess and athicas given tht there are a very few students on campus as of now.. so apologies for the same.. but please dont let tht give you a chance to compare it with ur mess :P

and without getting into any point wise comparison - i'd say.. we need no proof to say that IIM B is very well situated and as comfortable a campus than any other is at present - be it for its location (yea!) which is quite metropolitan, its weather (ask the IIM A, C and L junta!) and most of all it's people!
K Junta might well continue on it's crib session..
and till then.. " All Out rules" :P

How can I moderate this comment... this got to come from some proud IIMBer ... even if that means getting personal and talkin abt some1 city ...

Well If ...and on if ...some1 have read a blog in much better prevailing sense ..he could have seen the direct comparison of Bangalore and kerala ...NOT Delhi.. :P

and yeah as I said people are usually duped by aura for a day or 2 ..( to talk abt C and L ) .. and the same happened to us (K guys) ...but as the mist over the reality goes down with time ... you can see the ugly face of ReaLiTy :D

I wish you had stayed in kerala and had food in so called Canteen (other than mess) as well as enjoyed the beauty ...then it would have taken less than an year to raise your Bar (rather than narrowing down) to look at place.. Alas you have to give CAT one more time for that ...

Anyways ... Delhi ... I think ppl here from all over the states ..are a better judge of it ... yet sm ppl of delhi fail to understand it in 25 yrs of thr life :D

That was quick :)
Firstly: i am not comparing tangibles - cities .. but attitudes.. cribs about things tht we've faced all our lives doesnt come too well..
Secondly - just to bring to your notice - i have seen both campuses and my blog was based after those experiences :) Hilltops and jungles -good just for a vacation.. y dont ppl think of settling there if it were that cool ;)
And yea.. Kerela is a good vacation.. did i mention that :D

Well its about comparing places and getting better options...you may not be able to avoid these problems in cities but atleast can have good 2 years before you face them again
And yeah what a place that can be where study is fun(vacation) thn burden
